Council Tool FE6-36 Forcible Entry 6 lb Flathead Fire Axe with 36 in. Hickory Handle

The Council Tool FE6-36 Forcible Entry Axe is designed with features to improve performance and usability while helping reduce fatigue and injury.

Ideal for municipal firefighting, it is suitable for chopping, battering, and door-stopping. The cutting edge is approximately 5″ long, and the poll is square. This axe performs reliably on the fire-ground and is an invaluable tool for trainers and student firefighters.

Features:

Forged 4140 steel head designed to match Council Halligan tools, made in the USA.
Forged-in slot allows pairing with popular Halligan tools to create “The Irons.”
Tapered wedge-shaped blade can be used as a starter wedge and helps capture progress while forcing a door.
Extended poll balances the head so that the center of gravity is within the eye/handle; balanced to lay flat in an open hand, minimizing blade drop or flutter when swinging sideways.
Top of head is flat to stand on its own.
Hand-sharpened, tapered bit for cutting.
ANSI standards require bit hardness of RC 45-60 at least ½ inch back from the cutting edge. Council Tool internal standards call for tempered bit hardness of RC 48-55, targeting 1-1/4 inches from the cutting edge. The poll and eye walls remain in the as-forged condition.
36″ curved hickory handle. Eye section dried to below 10% moisture content to minimize shrinkage and prevent loosening.
Axe head hydraulically seated onto handle and secured with a traditional wooden and steel wedge.
Tapered interior eye detail ensures a strong mechanical bond; approximately ½″ of the handle length is removed during assembly for proper fit.

Returns Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.
