The Council Tool FE6-FG Forcible Entry Axe is designed to improve performance and usability while reducing fatigue and the risk of injury.

Ideal for municipal firefighting applications, it is suitable for chopping, battering, and door-stopping. The cutting edge is approximately 5″ long, and the poll is square. This axe is reliable on the fire-ground and an invaluable tool for trainers and student firefighters.

Features:

• Forged 4140 steel head designed to match Council Halligan tools, made in the USA.
• Forged-in slot allows pairing with popular Halligan tools to create “The Irons.”
• Tapered wedge-shaped blade functions as a starter wedge and helps capture progress when forcing a door.
• Extended poll balances the head so the center of gravity aligns with the eye/handle; balanced to lay flat in an open hand, minimizing blade drop or flutter during sideways swings.
• Top of the head is flat to stand on its own.
• Hand-sharpened, tapered bit for cutting.
• ANSI standards require bit hardness of RC 45-60 at least ½ inch back from the cutting edge. Council Tool internal standards call for tempered bit hardness of RC 48-55, targeting 1-1/4 inches from the cutting edge. The poll and eye walls remain in the as-forged condition.
• Tapered eye interior ensures a strong mechanical bond.
• 34.5 in. yellow-clad style fiberglass handle with pultruded structural fiberglass core and injection-molded exterior jacket. Extremely strong, durable, non-conductive, and non-corrosive.
